New imaging technique maps drug movement through skin in minutes

By combining mass spectrometry imaging with an automated analysis tool, researchers from Hebrew University have developed a technique that maps medication distribution across skin layers without dyes or labels. Tested on antifungal treatments, it offers a faster, more precise way to design safer and more effective topical and transdermal therapies.
